Day 6

Luxor Nile Cruise Excursions

Bring your best manners today, because you will meet some royalty today! After breakfast on your Nile cruise ship, you take an excursion to the royal cemetery for 62 Pharaos on the west bank of Luxor. As a metropolis of ancient Egypt, this city of palaces is home to the amazing Valley of the Kings and their elaborately decorated tombs. Many royal figures of Egypt's New Kingdom lay buried here, the city having been the principal burial site of royal figures for five centuries. One of the most prominent structures is most definitely the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built in the 15th century BCE and testimony to one of the world's first and most impressive female rulers. The valley is also home to the two massive testimonial stone statues towering into the sky, known as the Colossi of Memnon. Your head might be spinning by now and you can let your impressions settle after lunch back on the boat as your cruise will take you leisurely down the beautiful Nile river scenery towards Edfu. Relax and simply enjoy the time aboard your delightful cruise as you head south.

During this cruise, we will have a hieroglyphic reading study from our friendly Guide.
